SUMMARY:Labour Relation Trends and Grievances
DESCRIPTION:June 27\, 2017 – 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. EDT \nWhile the norm for collective agreements has been around fiscal restraint especially in the public sector\, the increasing impact on technology have made for intense negotiations for manufacturing sectors. \nWe will cover recent trends in negotiations as well as new technology that is available for managing grievances. Companies need visibility into past and present grievances so that they can apply consistent corrective measures. Technology will reduce time and improve compliance and accountability that helps organizations manage cost effectively the grievance process and outcomes. \nLabor management is a critical aspect for any organization. Many companies have unions to ensure that Labor policies are fair and consistent for all employees. In unionized work environments\, an employee can raise grievances in case any policies have been violated. An organization can have hundreds of grievances in a year. All grievances require investigations and arbitrations meetings which are recorded on paper and cause a traceability headache. Technology is available now enabling employees to create grievance and complaints. Managers & unions can follow through grievance steps and record the outcomes of complaints. Supervisors can create disciplinary actions\, maintain employee records. \nSee More & Register Now!

SUMMARY:Understanding the Impact of the New Trade Agreements
DESCRIPTION:This ‘hot topic’ eSeminar was scheduled as a result of a Poll we conducted that indicated 66% of those who responded were not prepared for the new Trade Agreements that go into effective July 1\, 2017. \neSeminar: Understanding the Impact of the New Trade Agreements \nJune 20\, 2017  10:00 a.m. – 11:30 PST  /  1:00 p.m. – 2:30 EST \nImplementation of the CFTA and CETA trade agreements on July 1st will greatly reduce barriers to trade and expand opportunities for Canadian companies.  The Canadian market will become more open and transparent as businesses compete across the country and from Europe.  With these new opportunities\, of course\, comes a layer of complexities that can negatively impact your procurement process if you are not prepared.   \nJoin us for our eSeminar that will explore the more significant features of the new agreements for both provincial and sub-provincial entities.  Increased transparency obligations\, including the requirement for a bid challenge/complaint process at the procuring entity level\, will affect not just policy and practices\, but will likely lead to a whole new body of tribunal and case law further defining procurement fairness obligations.  Join us on June 20th so that you can identify an action plan for helping your organization meet these important new obligations.   \nLearning Objectives:                 \n\nReview the key provisions that will require a change of practice\nExplore new bid challenge review procedures under both agreements\nDiscuss strategies for ensuring compliance and avoiding escalation of disputes\n\nRegister: \nhttps://www.regonline.com/registration/checkin.aspx?EventId=1997515 \nCost: $97 Per person or $479 for the EPIC Pass for team participation

SUMMARY:Champions of Lean Six Sigma
DESCRIPTION:DATE: Wednesday\, May 24\, 2017 (1-Day Workshop) \n LOCATION: Town of Oakville \nMaking service improvements has typically been viewed\, as the way of introducing “higher costs and ultimately an increase in taxes”. Government Services are constantly under tremendous scrutiny with a focus on traditional cost-cutting measures such as; downsizing\, delaying the implementation/timing of a project\, cutting actual key components of the service\, etc… \nAt OMLI we are working closely with various governments and their agencies by shifting the focus on the “customer” with guaranteed process efficiencies and financial rewards! \n  “6 REASONS FOR CHANGE” \n\nYou have been doing the same thing over and over without any significant improvement – “same old results”.\nImproving services at the same or lower costs\, means getting a NEW PLAYBOOK!\nIf your objective is to find new capacity within your employees\, then you need to direct energy to important services and ELIMINATE the things that DON’T ADD VALUE.\nShifting your focus on your customer and eliminating the non-value added activities and business processes does NOT mean reducing quality customer service.\nRe-energizing your organization to get employees excited about what they do will ignite endless possibilities.\nTaking the time to examine the actual work performed will provide valuable insight into proper planning for the future.   \n\nRegister Here

SUMMARY:Free Webinar - Executive Team Building and Culture Development
DESCRIPTION:The Clemmer Group Presents:\nLearn vital executive team and culture development strategies\nDrawing from decades of work with hundreds of executive teams\, Jim Clemmer will deliver an energizing and information-packed webinar on the critical and intertwined need for leadership/culture development and executive team building. This fast-paced 60-minute session will focus on proven frameworks and best practices that empower executive teams – and their organizations – to develop a peak performance culture. \nMany organizations are struggling with rapid change\, economic uncertainty\, attracting and retaining top people\, employee engagement\, improving health and safety\, and improving customer service. \nThese pressures are pulling executive teams in all directions. Many teams are crazy busy and overwhelmed by a barrage of urgent operational issues and frantic activity. Sometimes executive teams are conflicted and need help getting back on track. More often\, executive teams slip into ineffective “wheel spinning” patterns like priority overload with too many crisis and pressing urgencies\, eroding trust and cooperation\, communication breakdowns\, a daily e-mail deluge\, ineffective meetings\, or departmental silos. \nCommon failure factors\nDecades of research shows that up to 70% of efforts to improve customer service\, quality\, safety\, productivity\, innovation\, employee engagement\, retain top talent\, or introduce new technologies fail. \nLike a gnarled root system\, common causes of failure are intertwined with personal\, team\, and organizational behaviors and conditions. A major factor is how the organization’s culture ripples out from the management team leading it. The executive team models behavior patterns that set the tone and examples for the entire organization. \nExecutive team effectiveness and organizational factors are often rooted in these underlying causes: \n\nSpeed Traps and Tyranny of the Urgent – flooded by e-mails\, endless meetings\, and crisis management many leaders become reactive micromanagers and lose sight of the big picture.\nPartial and Piecemeal Programs – leadership training\, succession planning\, customer service\, six sigma\, safety\, talent/performance management\, IT systems\, and such are disconnected and disjointed.\nLeadership Lip Service – organizational leaders send contradictory messages about core values or embracing change by their inconsistent actions and behaviors.\nNot Building Change Capacity – many change and development efforts fail to engage the hearts and heads of key leaders and frontline staff and don’t energize and equip them to make it happen.\nTeams Not Pulling Together – strong leaders drive change in their “silo” and work at cross-purposes. This undermines both the team and the change/development effort.\nCommunication Breakdowns – leadership teams aren’t united in strategic priorities\, key messages\, behaviors that model the vision and values\, and rigorous implementation planning.\nFailing to Follow Through – strategies and development plans can quickly lose focus when they don’t have a robust implementation process engaging key teams with a disciplined follow through process.\n\nLeadership and organization culture are THE critical X factors. “Soft” leadership and culture boosts or BLOCKS strategy\, structure\, and change initiatives. \n  \nMore About What You Will Learn and to Register
