Contract full-time Advisor for Strategic Initiatives in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Peel Region's Culture and Inclusion team. The role leads DEI strategy, mentors staff, advises leadership on READI principles, and champions organizational cultural transformation to embed reconciliation, equity, accessibility, diversity, and inclusion across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and shape the organization's DEI strategy and vision, championing anti-racism and breaking down systemic barriers
- Mentor and lead direct reports to implement READI strategies and develop next-generation READI leaders
- Provide visionary direction and expert consultation to senior leaders on READI policies and best practices
- Champion cultural transformation by monitoring trends and driving READI policy changes
- Represent the organization at conferences, speaking engagements, and external READI-related committees
Qualifications
- University degree in Business, HR, Public Administration, or related field
- At least 6 years of hands-on experience leading READI initiatives in large organizations
- Well-versed in anti-racism, systemic discrimination, unconscious bias, and cultural competence
- Demonstrated ability to lead senior leaders and direct reports and drive READI initiatives through execution
- Strong communication skills for presentations, workshops, and consultations
At a glance
- Contract Full-Time, up to 13 months
- 35 hours per week
- Hybrid: minimum 2 days per week on-site at 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton; off-site work must be within Ontario
