AeroWR Growth Lead

Lead day-to-day execution of the AeroWR strategic growth initiative to support and promote Waterloo Region's aviation, aerospace, and defence sectors. Cultivate partnerships, manage industry engagement, plan events, drive communications strategy, and oversee Trade Impacted Community Program projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary operational lead and community point of contact for AeroWR; maintain continuous engagement with aviation, aerospace, and defence stakeholders
  • Identify, create, and cultivate strategic partnerships across local, provincial, national, and global ecosystems
  • Lead execution, financial tracking, and milestone delivery of Trade Impacted Community Program funded projects; prepare compliance and financial reporting
  • Conceptualize, plan, and execute bi-annual AeroWR roundtable events with logistics, agenda curation, speaker recruitment, and facilitation
  • Generate high-quality content across blogs, social media, newsletters, and website to build AeroWR brand; translate sector data into public narratives

Qualifications

  • 3-year degree/diploma in communications, public relations, commerce, public administration, or strategic management plus 4 years related experience; OR 4-year undergraduate degree in related field plus 3 years experience
  • Knowledge and skill in strategic communications, project management, and community relations
  • Familiarity with aviation, aerospace, and defence sectors including stakeholders, regulatory environments, and market trends
  • Written and verbal communication skills; proficiency with digital channels, CMS, email marketing software, and social media platforms
  • Strong organizational, event planning, and project management skills; interpersonal and networking skills to build trust with enterprise leaders and government officials

Location: 150 Frederick St - Regional Admin Headquarters, Kitchener, ON
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday 8:30 AM-4:30 PM, hybrid (2 days in-office, 3 days remote)
