Richmond Hill is hiring 25 aquatic staff for fall 2026 through spring 2027, including Aquatic Attendants, Lifeguards, and Swim Instructors. Positions are permanent part-time with various shifts, reporting to Aquatic Supervisors and the Aquatic Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Aquatic Lifeguards and Swim Instructors during recreational swims and instructional lessons (Attendants)
  • Supervise patrons using the slide and assist with customer service and pool deck maintenance (Attendants)
  • Ensure safety of all patrons in and around the aquatic facility and respond to emergencies (Lifeguards)
  • Teach and deliver Lifesaving Society's Swim for Life and Lifesaving programs according to lesson plans (Swim Instructors)
  • Lead drills and instruction while creating a safe and positive learning environment (Swim Instructors)

Qualifications

  • Valid Social Insurance Number
  • At least 15 years of age
  • Valid Standard First Aid or Intermediate First Aid certificate recognized by WSIB
  • Valid Lifesaving Society ID for certification verification
  • National Lifeguard or Bronze Cross certification depending on position
