Key Responsibilities
Construct, reconstruct, and repair sidewalks, curbs, roads, and asphalt infrastructure
Direct crews and provide work direction and training to staff
Operate vehicles and winter maintenance equipment; perform maintenance activities
Ensure proper traffic control per Ontario Traffic Manual Book 7; set out cones and flashers
Create and update Service Requests and Work Orders in Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
Qualifications
Experience placing and finishing concrete, masonry, and asphalt repair, or equivalent education and experience combination
Considerable experience with standard tools, materials, methods, and practices used in concrete work
Valid Province of Ontario Class D Driver's License with Z endorsement; qualify for City equipment operating permits
Familiarity with Occupational Health and Safety Act and applicable regulations
Ability to provide work direction and training to others; physically capable of performing duties in all weather conditions
