The Asset Management Technologist (Regional Water) reports to the Manager, Capital Programs and is responsible for maintaining asset condition records, coordinating the Asset Management Plan for regional water systems, and recommending asset renewal and replacement strategies to ensure safe and consistent system operation.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate Asset Management Plan updates including asset valuation and condition assessment
Maintain asset registry and management system following operational changes, capital replacements, and new asset installations
Establish asset replacement priorities by analyzing data inventories, studies, and condition assessments
Undertake and manage condition assessments of regional water system assets; monitor assessments by contracted operators and third-party specialists
Administer capital works projects, monitor compliance with standards and H&S regulations, and review payment certificates and change orders
Qualifications
Minimum three-year community college civil engineering diploma or equivalent
Full member of OACETT or Associate Member with full membership completed within three years
Minimum four years experience in engineering or technology field with project management and contract administration responsibilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to use database and asset management software
Ability to read and interpret technical reports, engineering drawings, and specifications
