School crossing guard position for the City of Saguenay in the La Baie borough. The role involves ensuring safe passage for elementary students at dangerous intersections and promoting safe pedestrian behavior through example and instruction.
Key Responsibilities
Arrive on time and remain at assigned crossing post for 30-minute periods at four times daily according to established schedule
Evaluate traffic conditions, position in street at danger zones, stop vehicles with stop sign, authorize crossing, and remain until children safely cross
Inform children about safety rules compliance
Respond to emergency and other special situations
Qualifications
Acute sense of responsibility and safety
Aptitude for working with children
Diligent and punctual
Autonomy, initiative, and resourcefulness
Ability to work in all weather conditions and adapt to split schedule
