About this job

The City of Prince Albert seeks a Building Inspector II to conduct building inspections, review permit applications, and enforce the National Building Code, National Energy Code, Construction Codes Act, and Building Bylaw for buildings within Part 9 scope.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete plan reviews and inspections for buildings within NBC Part 9 scope and NECB requirements
  • Review building permit applications, process permits, and communicate deficiencies to applicants
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, and Orders for compliance with NBC, NECB, and Building Bylaw
  • Respond to inquiries and provide technical advice on building code compliance to public, contractors, developers, and City departments
  • Inspect new businesses prior to Business License issuance and maintain building permit inspection records

Qualifications

  • Licensed as Class II (or higher) Building Inspector by Saskatchewan Building and Technical Standards Branch
  • One year experience as a Class I Building Official
  • Valid Driver's License
  • A.Sc.T Designation under Technology Professionals Saskatchewan (considered an asset)
