About this job
Full-time permanent Building System Technician responsible for monitoring, controlling, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing mechanical and electrical systems across City of Ottawa facilities. Position involves rotating shifts at multiple locations and requires HVAC/refrigeration certification and 5+ years of related experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, control, and inspect mechanical and electrical building systems
- Maintain and repair building environmental systems and services
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical system failures
- Conduct preventative maintenance on building systems
- Maintain records on log sheets and write memoranda
Qualifications
- Completion of 2-year college diploma in Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning with CFC Certification
- Minimum 5 years of related maintenance and operational experience on building environmental systems
- Valid Ontario unrestricted G class driver's licence with no more than 6 demerit points
- Current Ontario Ozone Depletion Prevention (ODP) certificate card
- Knowledge of D.D.C. Systems, HVAC, plumbing, electronic and pneumatic controls, and blueprint reading
