Temporary part-time caretaker custodian position in the Facilities Maintenance Department performing cleaning and building service tasks in Town facilities. Role includes manual, physically demanding work such as floor maintenance, restroom cleaning, equipment setup, and facility security.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain cleanliness of Town facilities including sweeping, mopping, waxing, and polishing floors
Clean restrooms, walls, windows, fixtures, and replenish supplies
Collect and transfer garbage; wash and shelve glassware, dishes, and kitchen items
Open and lock facilities, set up and take down equipment for user groups, and ensure security
Report needed repairs or damage to supervisor and document inventory removal
Qualifications
Grade 10 completion or equivalent and minimum 3 months recent relevant experience
Knowledge of standard janitorial methods, materials, and equipment
Ability to obtain and maintain RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status security clearance
Valid British Columbia Class 5 Drivers License
Valid WHMIS certificate; ability to perform manual duties in all weather conditions; effective communication and client service skills
