Full-time caseworker role with the Region of Waterloo's Employment and Income Support team, focused on serving Indigenous clients through Ontario Works and ODSP programs. Key Responsibilities

Maintain caseload of Ontario Works clients with prioritization for Indigenous clients
Determine and authorize financial assistance, discretionary benefits, and emergency assistance based on legislation and client eligibility
Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with Indigenous communities, organizations, and Indigenous-serving agencies
Develop individual employment plans and outcome plans using quality of life framework to support clients in accessing resources
Calculate and document changes on active and closed files, authorize pay adjustments, and maintain client information in databases

Qualifications

University degree or 2-year college diploma in a related field plus 2 years of related experience (paid or volunteer) in social services or community setting
Lived, living, cultural, community-based, or professional experience relevant to Indigenous communities
Strong knowledge of Indigenous community needs, systemic barriers affecting Indigenous communities, and trauma-informed culturally-responsive approaches
Strong knowledge of Indigenous-led organizations, available supports, and barriers to accessing mainstream services

Hours: 35 per week, Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm

Hybrid schedule: 3 days remote, 2 days in office or as per operational needs
