About this job

Casual Child Care Housekeeper position with Directly Operated Child Care Services responsible for maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety in municipal child care centres while supporting daily program operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain high hygiene standards in municipal child care centres
  • Emphasize safety in child care environments
  • Spot clean as needed throughout the facility
  • Work around children and their daily programs
  • Adhere to schedules, routines, and applicable policies including the Early Years Act

Qualifications

  • Completion of Grade 10
  • Minimum 1 month experience in institutional housekeeping
  • Knowledge of accepted Municipal sanitary practices and Ottawa Public Health requirements
  • Knowledge of WHIMIS (Workplace Hazardous Material Information System)
  • Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation
