Senior Water Design Engineer managing renewal and replacement of aging drinking water infrastructure. Responsibilities include design, project management, contract management, asset planning, and leading a team of engineers and assistants.

Key Responsibilities

Manage team of Civil Engineers, Engineering Assistants, and Survey Assistants on capital project design and management
Oversee quality control of water and multi-disciplinary capital projects in accordance with City's Project Management Framework
Manage design submissions as Engineer of Record and ensure compliance with Quality Management System and Professional Governance Act requirements
Coordinate with Waterworks Asset Management, Planning, Development, and other City departments during project planning and design
Develop and maintain construction schedules and budgets; oversee capital project progression and expenditures

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with Professional Engineer designation
Minimum eight years related experience in design and construction of water infrastructure
Registration or eligibility for registration as Professional Engineer in British Columbia
Experience developing and managing budgets for infrastructure capital works
Knowledge of civil engineering practices and underground infrastructure design, particularly water main design
