Civil Engineering Technologist position responsible for comprehensive reviews of proposed development from a civil engineering perspective, providing technical analysis and customer service related to municipal infrastructure planning, operations, design, and construction. Key Responsibilities
Provide engineering and technical analysis related to municipal infrastructure planning, operations, design, construction, and preservation
Review drawings, specifications, plans and applications from consultants and developers to ensure compliance with City standards
Maintain and operate specialized analysis software (WaterCAD, Synchro/SimTraffic, InfoWorks) and produce reports and recommendations
Supervise and direct staff, consultants and contractors; manage projects and budgets
Represent department in meetings with other departments, public, consultants, contractors, and government agencies
Qualifications
Two-year diploma in Civil Engineering Technologies, Water Resources, or Environmental Engineering Technology
Minimum two years experience in water, wastewater, drainage, environment, and/or transportation engineering fields
Registration or eligibility for registration with Saskatchewan Applied Science Technology and Technicians (SASTT) as an Applied Science Technologist
Knowledge of engineering practices, principles, theories, computations, analyses and statistics
Beginner level GIS and CAD skills; intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
