About this job

Design UX/UI specialist responsible for creating digital user experiences for Laval's citizen portal and municipal services. Role involves research, interface design, user testing, and collaboration with development teams to deliver accessible, user-centered web solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop digital user experience strategy aligned with City of Laval's strategic vision
  • Conduct user research, document needs, and create wireframes and prototypes for web interfaces
  • Lead user testing and advocate for citizen needs to continuously improve digital experience
  • Design, optimize and simplify user interfaces following corporate design rules, web accessibility standards, and technology capabilities
  • Collaborate with development teams and coordinate with internal/external contributors (writers, translators, graphic designers, developers)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in design, industrial design, business administration, marketing, or related field
  • 6 years relevant experience in the role
  • Solid understanding of user-centered web design approach, responsive interfaces, web ergonomics, complex prototyping
  • Experience with transactional form design, user research/usability testing, and project-based work
  • Proficiency with Figma prototyping tool and Material kit React (Material)
