Contract Recreation Program Instructor position with the Town of Kingsville, reporting to the Manager of Recreation Programs and Special Events. Responsible for designing, preparing, and implementing recreational programs for various age groups across Spring/Summer (March–August) and Fall/Winter (September–February) seasons.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement program plans incorporating varied activities (fitness, arts, crafts, games, cooking, music, etc.) for any age group
  • Submit applicable training certifications based on program type and detailed program plans per template
  • Implement programs professionally while ensuring safety and security of all participants
  • Uphold departmental and facilities policies; respond appropriately to incidents, accidents, and emergencies
  • Modify program plans based on feedback and evaluation; maintain organization and responsiveness to communication and deadlines

Qualifications

  • Certifications dependent on program type (e.g., fitness certifications required for fitness programs)
  • Valid standard First Aid and CPR/AED certification
  • High Five – Principles of Healthy Child Development certification
  • Familiarity with Age-Friendly Community Principles
  • Completed Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
