Co-op student position supporting daily traffic operations functions, including traffic studies, field investigations, and public engagement. Students will work closely with supervisors to gain hands-on experience in traffic operations and road safety.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in day-to-day operations of Traffic Operations and Road Safety Units
Perform peak hour studies and observations
Conduct basic field work and provide staff comments
Investigate and complete record keeping for sign deficiencies
Provide written and verbal feedback to staff and public on traffic operations
Qualifications
Enrolled in post-secondary Transportation Engineering or related program
Knowledge of traffic studies (turning movement counts, stopping compliance, spot speed studies)
Knowledge of traffic engineering theory and practice
Proficiency with MS Office, Outlook, and traffic-related software
Valid Class G driver's license with daily vehicle access
