The City of Toronto is recruiting 2 CPA Associates for a 30-month rotational program designed to provide professional experience qualifying candidates as Chartered Professional Accountants. Participants rotate through Accounting Services, Financial Planning, and optionally Internal Audit divisions while receiving study support for CPA examinations.
Key Responsibilities
Research, interpret, and apply Public Sector Accounting Standards to complex accounting transactions and consolidated financial statements
Analyze budget assumptions, revenue projections, and expenditure forecasts using historical trends and analytical techniques
Assist in planning and execution of risk-based audits, including developing audit objectives, scope, and recommendations
Support development and implementation of corporate accounting policies and financial reporting practices
Perform multi-year financial forecasting, scenario analysis, and sensitivity analysis to evaluate financial sustainability
