The Decision Support Analyst supports evidence-informed decision-making across the City of Vancouver by combining performance measurement, service evaluation, business analysis and business intelligence. The role helps leaders understand service performance, assess options, evaluate outcomes, and improve accountability and transparency.

Key Responsibilities

Support performance measurement reporting by linking City services to performance metrics, work plans and corporate plan
Contribute to service evaluation by defining evaluation questions, gathering evidence, analyzing outcomes and summarizing findings
Develop and maintain datasets, reports, dashboards and analytical models using Power BI, Excel, SQL and other business intelligence platforms
Work with client departments to understand business needs and translate them into analytical products
Support adoption of business intelligence tools through guidance, training and coaching

Qualifications

Master's degree in Business Analytics, Commerce, Economics, Statistics, Public Policy, Public Administration, MBA, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum 4–5 years of experience in performance measurement, data analytics, service or program evaluation, business analysis, business intelligence or related field
Considerable knowledge of performance metrics, benchmarking and service evaluation
Considerable knowledge of business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Excel, SQL and data modelling approaches
Ability to design performance measures and indicators that inform strategic, operational or service-delivery decisions
