Dietary Aide position at Creek Way Village Long Term Care Facility in Burlington, reporting to the Supervisor of Nutrition Services. The role involves providing respectful, individualized service to residents, including food preparation, serving, and maintaining food safety standards in a homelike atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide respectful, courteous service while getting to know residents' names, diets, preferences, and communicating concerns to nursing and dietary staff
  • Re-thermalize menu items and ensure finished quality of all food products
  • Maintain food safety, sanitation, and departmental procedures; conduct and monitor microbial tests
  • Perform cleaning, dishwashing, dining room setup, and transport food and dish wagons
  • Pick up and rotate supplies, train co-workers, and document food usage and audit requirements

Qualifications

  • Successfully completed or enrolled in a Food Service Worker training program at an established Ontario college or registered private career college
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Team-oriented with effective communication skills
  • Understanding of Residents' Bill of Rights and Ministry of Long Term Care Compliance Standards
  • Preferred: at least one year related kitchen and/or servery experience

Contract position, up to 12 months
Up to 10 hours per week, afternoons 1:45 p.m. - 6:45 p.m.
