Casual Dietary Aide position at Halton Region's non-profit long-term care homes, reporting to the Supervisor of Nutrition Services. Role involves providing individualized food service to residents, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting dining operations across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities

Provide respectful, individualized service and create homelike atmosphere by learning resident names, dietary preferences, and communicating concerns to nursing and dietary staff
Re-thermalize menu items and ensure finished quality of all food products
Perform cleaning, dishwashing, dining room setup, and conduct microbial testing on servery and equipment
Transport food and dish wagons between servery and dining areas; pick up and rotate supplies, checking quality and discarding outdated products
Train co-workers and provide documentation for audits and food usage sheets

Qualifications

Valid Food Handler Certificate
Relevant experience in healthcare, restaurant, or hospitality food service
Good organizational and interpersonal skills; team-oriented with effective communication
Understanding of Residents' Bill of Rights and Ministry of Long Term Care Compliance Standards
Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs and perform necessary physical tasks
