Electrical Engineering Technologist II position with Saskatoon Light & Power performing office and field work on street lighting, substations, network systems, and distribution under supervision of a Senior Project Management Engineer. Two permanent full-time positions available.
Key Responsibilities
Plans and designs overhead and underground systems, street and pathway lighting systems, network and substations
Prepares work orders, cost estimates and budget estimates
Performs field work including surveying, physical and electrical measurements, inspections and contractor supervision
Inspects materials used in utility operations and troubleshoots system failures like cable fault finding
Performs field-based non-destructive testing of electrical equipment and testing on electrical relays
Qualifications
Graduation from a recognized two-year post-secondary Electrical Engineering Technology program
Registered as a Professional Technologist (P. Tech) with Technology Professionals Saskatchewan
Four to seven years related experience in an electrical utility with exposure to Transmission, Distribution, Substations and Streetlighting
Successful completion of Technologist I Skills Assessment exam
Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver's Licence with current safe driving record from SGI
