Full-time permanent Electronic Technician position with the Town of Oakville Transit Department (Maintenance Division), reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor. Key Responsibilities
Lay out, build, test, troubleshoot, repair and modify electronic components, parts, equipment and systems for transit applications
Develop, maintain and operate test equipment using electronics and electrical circuitry principles
Assemble experimental circuitry and prototype models according to engineering instructions and technical manuals
Write technical reports and develop charts, graphs, and schematics to describe system characteristics and malfunctions
Input and retrieve vehicle repair information from the Fleet Maintenance System
Qualifications
Grade 12 education or equivalent secondary education
Successful completion of Community College courses in electronics or equivalent
3 years of related experience in the electronics field
Ability to read and understand schematic diagrams
Valid and unrestricted Ontario Driver's License Class C with Z air brake endorsement (driving record with fewer than 6 points)
