Energy Management Analyst role supporting Toronto's greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets by analyzing energy data, monitoring progress toward climate goals, and providing reporting across municipal government operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze, monitor, and track energy data to support energy and carbon accountability implementation
  • Conduct research and provide recommendations on systematic approaches for monitoring greenhouse gas impacts of projects and initiatives
  • Develop reporting protocols for internal and external audiences using datasets and KPIs to show progress toward climate goals
  • Collect, maintain, and update data for a City-run dashboard and prepare energy/GHG reports in various formats
  • Monitor and verify energy and cost savings from retrofit projects; liaison with government organizations and utility companies on relevant programs and funding

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education from recognized university or college in energy/emissions accounting, data science, or climate change mitigation policy, or equivalent education and experience
  • Considerable experience evaluating, manipulating, and analyzing large datasets, spreadsheets, and databases related to energy and/or emissions
  • Experience in mathematical and statistical analysis
  • Experience in energy conservation and demand management associated with building energy systems
  • Demonstrated background in report writing and excellent communication skills
