The Energy Management Specialist reports to the Manager of Energy Management and is responsible for analyzing utility consumption data, preparing budget forecasts and quarterly projections, implementing energy efficiency projects, and collaborating with Facilities and Property Management to promote energy efficiency across the City of Mississauga.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and report city-wide utility budget forecasts and end-of-year projections quarterly
Analyze utility data using statistical methods, interpret results, and report on energy performance
Monitor energy consumption of city facilities and investigate utility bill irregularities
Determine energy conservation opportunities and evaluate capital replacement projects for energy efficiency
Prepare business case studies and environmental impact reports for new technology projects

Qualifications

Post-secondary diploma/degree in engineering, technology, or related field (or equivalent education and experience)
Minimum 3-5 years progressive experience in energy and utility management (highly preferred)
Experience with utilities bills management and utility budget forecasting (required)
MS Excel and relational database management skills (SQL) required; ability to analyze large datasets
Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work in team-based environment
