Engineering Assistant IV reports to a Civil Engineer II and coordinates project activities in Solid Waste Management, including project scheduling, financial tracking, and liaison work between consultants, contractors, operations staff, and stakeholders on zero waste strategy and civil infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and manage projects as liaison between contractors, consultants, external stakeholders and internal staff
Monitor construction work, inspect materials, and provide site/field direction
Develop and maintain project documentation including Project Charter, schedules, risk registers, cost tracking and reports
Prepare Requests for Proposals and tenders; collaborate with Supply Chain Management on evaluation/selection
Review invoices, authorize payments, and make recommendations on contract administration including change orders

Qualifications

Diploma in Civil Engineering, Project Management or Construction Management supplemented by technical courses and considerable practical experience, or equivalent combination of training and experience
Experience at sub-professional level providing construction project management or project coordination
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and problem solve with accuracy in technical environment
Knowledge of project lifecycle, project management methodologies and project delivery processes
Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to work independently in fast-paced environment with multiple competing deadlines
