Key Responsibilities
Receive and process engineering applications and permits for sewer, water, design, environment, traffic and inspection
Serve customers at counter, respond to calls and emails, provide information on engineering operations and procedures
Liaise with engineering staff and escalate cases to supervisors
Enter, update and retrieve information using software; collect and process payments and refunds
Create service requests, conduct preliminary site plan reviews, perform user acceptance testing for new systems
Qualifications
Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by or including work-related courses
Considerable related office experience involving public contact and computerized systems, preferably in large organization
Considerable knowledge of engineering or construction policies, procedures and regulations
Sound knowledge of filing, recordkeeping, office practices and modern business software applications
Ability to make routine decisions under pressure with high volume of inquiries and work effectively with the public
