Full-time permanent and temporary (up to 2 years) Engineering Technologist position managing lateral programs including drinking water loss, sewer rehabilitation, lead pipe replacement, and related municipal water and sewer infrastructure projects city-wide.
Key Responsibilities
Implement drinking water loss, sewer inflow & infiltration, and lateral replacement programs
Administer and coordinate multiple simultaneous sewer lateral and water service replacements
Provide underground utility locates for water and sewer infrastructure
Monitor, track and report on project status; maintain maintenance records
Assist with program delivery including contracts development, contractor selection, and planning through implementation
Qualifications
3-year community college diploma in Civil Engineering Technology with CET status
Minimum 7 years progressively responsible and practical experience in municipal sewer and/or water systems
Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) with OACETT, or able to obtain within employer-determined timeframe
Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and drawings
Knowledge of confined space entry policies and applicable health and safety legislation
