About this job
On-call seasonal contract equipment operator for King Township responsible for winter road maintenance, snow clearing, and equipment operation. Reports to supervisors in urban and rural maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate vehicles and equipment for winter road maintenance
- Perform snow clearing, removal, and material spreading
- Operate rubber tired backhoe, wheel loader, plow/dump truck, pickup truck with snowplow/salter, and chainsaws
- Perform minor maintenance on Public Works trucks and equipment
- Perform general maintenance work and heavy manual labour as required
Qualifications
- OSSD or equivalent
- Minimum two years winter maintenance experience with 5 Tonne Plow-wing combination unit operation, preferably municipal
- Valid class A or D driver's licence with airbrake Z endorsement
- Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act, WHMIS, Working at Heights, O.Reg. 555/06, O.Reg. 239/02, and O.Reg. 199/07
- Ability to operate heavy equipment used in winter maintenance
