The Facility Operator I reports to the Supervisor of Operations and provides facility cleaning, maintenance, and repair services while supporting staff coordination and administrative duties for recreation facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and monitor annual operations work plans and lead facility projects including ice installation/removal and pool shutdowns/start-ups
Perform facility maintenance including cleaning, floor refinishing, room set-ups, and waste collection
Create duties and train part-time operations staff and volunteer workers
Generate preventative maintenance work orders for HVAC, boilers, pool filtration, and arena refrigeration systems
Maintain ice surfaces, perform plant readings, operate ice resurfacer machines, and manage pool filtration and water chemistry

Qualifications

Secondary School diploma with experience as a Facility Operator in arenas and pools
Ability to operate ice resurfacer, edger, and various power and hand tools
Current CPO (Certified Pool Operator) certification required
Class B Refrigeration Operator ticket required for registered plant facilities
Valid Ontario Driver's License Class G; CPR and First Aid Certification required or obtainable within six months
