Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic financial advice and analysis to support departmental planning, budgeting, and operational decision-making
Support development and monitoring of operating and capital budgets, including business case development and capital accounting oversight
Develop financial models and conduct in-depth financial analysis to improve financial performance and support long-term financial planning
Prepare regular and ad-hoc financial management reports, including variance analysis and capital carry-forward reporting
Lead and supervise work units providing budget and accounting services to operating departments
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of municipal accounting principles, budgeting processes, and Public Sector Accounting Board (PSAB) standards
Experience with computerized financial systems, financial reporting, and financial modelling
Ability to analyze complex financial information and develop strategic recommendations
Experience leading teams, providing guidance, and supporting staff development
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to present complex financial information
