The City of Mississauga seeks a Fitness Supervisor to lead fitness program development and delivery across the city while managing part-time staff and supporting facility operations. Reporting to the Fitness Manager, you will coordinate diverse community fitness initiatives and foster an inclusive, welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities

Initiate, design and deliver quality fitness programs supporting healthy, active living
Lead, hire, coach, train, schedule and supervise part-time staff including exercise counsellors, personal trainers and group exercise instructors
Manage annual operating budgets, monitor payroll and provide financial reports
Develop and participate in outreach initiatives to introduce fitness concepts and healthy living to the community
Ensure compliance with City of Mississauga Recreation and Culture standards, policies and legislative requirements

Qualifications

Degree or diploma in Recreation, Physical Education, Kinesiology, or validated equivalent with minimum three years full-time related experience
Current certification in personal training and/or group exercise through CSEP, CANFIT PRO, CPTN, OFC, ACSM or validated equivalent
Demonstrated knowledge of program design, program maintenance software (ActiveNet, Perfect Minds, etc.), customer service, budget management and volunteer dynamics
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Valid and current Intermediate or Standard First Aid certification with CPR C & AED from recognized WSIB-provider (or Basic/Emergency First Aid with CPR C & AED)
