Temporary part-time General Duty (Dietary) position at Sunnyside Home in Kitchener for up to 4 months, involving food transport, plating, kitchen cleaning, and food preparation support in a long-term care setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport hot food wagons to and from dining areas; plate and portion food for tenants
- Clean, sanitize, and store pots, pans, utensils, and large cooking equipment
- Assist cooks with food preparation tasks such as mincing, grinding, and pulling
- Unpack and check supplies against invoices; operate and maintain kitchen/delivery equipment
- Transport soiled kitchen/dining room linen to laundry; respond to staff and resident inquiries
Qualifications
- Grade 12 education or completion/enrollment in a food services program
- Current Safe Food Handling Certificate
- Tuberculosis (TB) test and required immunization(s)
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English
- Acceptable vulnerable sector police check
