Contract full-time Health Analyst position within Public Health Intelligence to monitor population health, conduct epidemiologic analyses, and develop data products supporting evidence-informed decision-making at Peel Region.

Key Responsibilities

Function as data guardian for population health and surveillance databases, ensuring compliance with data sharing agreements and privacy practices
Obtain, clean, and analyze data from population health databases and Peel Public Health programs using software such as STATA, R, and ArcGIS
Develop and present data products including interactive dashboards, visualizations, maps, and reports using Power BI or Tableau
Conduct technical analyses and prepare reports on health data for surveillance, program planning, and epidemiologic questions
Collaborate with epidemiologists and staff on analytical support; maintain database procedural documents; respond to ad-hoc data requests

Qualifications

Honours BA or BSc in Statistics, Biostatistics, Health Studies, Life Sciences, or related discipline
Minimum three years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge of population health data sources (e.g. IntelliHealth, Canadian Community Health Survey)
Ability to synthesize, analyze, interpret, and communicate health and epidemiological information from multiple sources
Excellent analytical skills with statistical software (R, STATA, Excel) and mapping software (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online)

Contract full-time, 6 months

35 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm

Hybrid work; minimum two days per week on-site at 7120 Hurontario Street, Mississauga, ON L5W 1N4

Off-site work must be within Ontario
