Casual housekeeping attendant position in municipal long-term care facilities responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and comfortable environments for residents in accordance with the Long Term Care Homes Act, 2007.
Key Responsibilities
Perform housekeeping duties including disinfection, floor stripping and refinishing, carpet shampooing, and surface preservation
Operate auto scrubber, floor buffer, and carpet extractor equipment
Identify and report workplace hazards
Maintain clean, comfortable, home-like and safe resident environments
Work cooperatively with residents, visitors, and co-workers
Qualifications
Completion of Grade 10
Six months experience in institutional cleaning
Knowledge of disinfection procedures, floor maintenance, and housekeeping equipment operation
Understanding of safe body mechanics and applicable health and safety legislation including WHMIS
Ability to lift and carry 35 lbs, stand/walk for prolonged periods, and fully squat or kneel
