Lead Stagehand position reporting to the Theatre Business Operations Coordinator, responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing technical and operational requirements for events across Richmond Hill's Cultural Services, with primary focus on the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as point of contact for artists, vendors, clients, staff, and stakeholders
Perform and oversee technical production duties including rigging, fly systems, lighting, audio, video, and stage work
Lead and supervise event execution including load-in, set-up, monitoring, and load-out of technical equipment
Provide technical guidance and training to stagehands, technicians, volunteers, and facility renters
Conduct risk analysis and ensure compliance with OHSA, Fire Code, Ontario Building Code, and other applicable legislation
Qualifications
3-year BFA in Theatre Production & Design or Diploma in Technical Production for the Performing Arts, or equivalent with minimum 3 years related experience
1-2+ years of supervisory experience
Minimum 3 years technical and operational experience in culture and entertainment sector
Demonstrated expertise in sound, lighting, rigging, video, props, carpentry, and stage management
Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check upon hire; CPR and Standard First Aid Certified
