Lead a team of Learn to Skate Instructors to plan and deliver inclusive skating programs for children, youth, and adults of all abilities. Report to the Recreation Coordinator and ensure participants develop skating skills in a safe, progressive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, revise and implement dynamic lesson plans with safe technique and progression
Train, monitor and coach the Learn to Skate instructor team
Assist with program planning, setup, execution and evaluation
Assess skaters' skill levels and assign to appropriate groups
Act as first point of contact for incidents, accidents and emergencies
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience and knowledge in a recognized Skating Program with technical skating competence
Experience working with non-skaters, beginners, and advanced skaters in a learn to skate environment
Previous experience with program planning, development and implementation
Adaptable, patient, and innovative approach to work
Valid CPR Level C and Standard First Aid; satisfactory Police Record Check including Vulnerable Sector Check required
