Key Responsibilities
Lead strategic planning and service delivery enhancement for OPL's Indigenous partners
Collaborate on development, delivery and enhancement of services for Indigenous communities
Further OPL's relationships and engagement with Indigenous communities
Provide system-wide expertise, guidance and resources to support culturally responsive programs and services
Lead development of approaches, roadmaps, guidance and cultural protocols; provide research and analytical support
Qualifications
Undergraduate university degree in relevant field, or equivalent combination of work experience, training and courses
Minimum 3 years proven experience working with local First Nations and/or urban Indigenous communities
Must self-identify as First Nations, Inuit, or Métis
Knowledge of social and political structures, socio-economic challenges, and cultural ways of knowing in local First Nations and/or urban Indigenous communities
Knowledge of Truth and Reconciliation Commission findings and recommendations; current knowledge of Indigenous organizations in National Capital Region; knowledge of current trends in public library service for Indigenous groups
