Key Responsibilities
Lifeguards and instructs assigned programs
Ensures aquatic activities are carried out safely in accordance with established rules and regulations
Performs janitorial tasks including cleaning, disinfecting, and scrubbing pool areas
Assists in planning and coordination of aquatic programs and special events
Performs pool maintenance tasks as indicated in Daily Guard Report
Qualifications
Minimum grade 12 education or equivalent (GED)
Minimum one year recent experience in lifeguard/instructor role
Current Lifesaving Swim Instructor, National Lifeguard Award (Pool Option), Lifesaving Instructor, and BCRPA Aqua Fit Instructor or comparable certification
Valid Standard 1st Aid certification and CPR level C certification
BCRPA PoolSafeBC certification and satisfactory police information and vulnerable sector check
