Casual lifeguard/instructor position at Beaumont Sport & Recreation Centre for morning and daytime hours. Role involves supervising pool patrons, teaching swim lessons to children and youth, maintaining facility safety, and performing daily pool maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct supervision and safety of pool patrons; ensure compliance with governing bodies
  • Address and correct unsafe or unruly behaviour; educate patrons on safe practices
  • Train lifeguard/instructors during shadow shifts and complete required paperwork
  • Develop lesson plans and instruct swim lessons to children and youth of all skill levels
  • Perform daily pool maintenance duties and recognize emergency signs with appropriate first aid response

Qualifications

  • LSS Swim Instructor certification
  • LSS National Lifeguard certification
  • Intermediate First Aid certification
  • Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector and Child Services Intervention Check
  • Demonstrated lifeguarding and/or instructor abilities; experience directing children and youth

At a glance

Casual position
Morning and daytime hours between 4:45 AM and 4:00 PM
Up to 29 hours per week
Must be available at least one weekday and one weekend day per week
