Maintenance Technician I

About this job

Maintenance Technician I responsible for maintaining, operating, troubleshooting and repairing physical plant equipment and related HVAC systems in City of Vancouver facilities. Position may require evenings and weekends on various shifts with applicable shift differential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect components, check gauges and monitor fluid levels
  • Maintain, repair, and/or replace filters, pulleys, belts, gaskets, pumps and bearings
  • Test and add chemicals to systems; oil, grease and clean components
  • Conduct operational tests to ensure optimal equipment performance
  • Make set point adjustments to physical plant equipment and related systems

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 completion plus courses in technical specialty and considerable related experience, or equivalent combination
  • Fourth Class Power Engineer Certificate or equivalent/higher required
  • Sound related experience in HVAC equipment maintenance and WorkSafeBC indoor air quality regulations
  • Current and valid BC Driver's License with satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to operate and adjust equipment and automated control systems (DCC) such as Delta and Reliable controls
