The Manager, Design Services leads the City of Vancouver's central graphic design function, providing creative leadership and operational oversight for a multidisciplinary team of design, photography, and videography professionals. Key Responsibilities

Lead development of graphic design and visual communications materials for City initiatives and public engagement

Develop, implement and evolve graphic standards, templates, style guides and visual systems across the organization
Lead, mentor and manage a multidisciplinary creative services team including graphic design, photography and videography roles
Provide professional consultation to departments on graphic design and visual communication approaches

Qualifications

Degree in graphic design, visual communication or related discipline, plus 6 years experience in organizational communications in large, complex public or private sector environments, or equivalent combination
Experience leading development and implementation of graphic standards, style guides or visual systems
Experience balancing strategic direction with hands-on production and operational responsibilities
Experience providing operational leadership, managing staff performance and supporting service delivery in collaborative production environment
Expert-level knowledge with industry-standard creative software, tools and production practices
