Manager, Development Engineering (Water and Wastewater)

Manages a team overseeing water and wastewater infrastructure development and linear systems for the Region of Waterloo. Leads feasibility studies, environmental assessments, master plans, and capital projects while coordinating with area municipalities on capacity allocation and emergency response.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise Water Analysts, Engineers, Engineering Interns, data modellers, and students
  • Oversee water and wastewater tools, hydraulic modelling, and field assessments to evaluate system impacts during growth
  • Manage capital planning for water and wastewater systems related to Wellesley and North Dumfries
  • Develop and implement inflow and infiltration and leak detection programs across the Region
  • Lead complex projects liaising with area municipalities, agencies, ministries, consultants, and stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree plus progressively responsible related experience in official plan policies, land development planning, and engineering approvals
  • Licensed and in good standing as a Professional Engineer in Ontario
