Part-time Master Instructor position to teach culinary classes to children, youth, and adults at the Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre in Oakville. Role involves developing curriculum, teaching food preparation, and ensuring safe food handling practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop program-specific curriculum and teach culinary classes in the Community Kitchen for children (10-12 years), youth, and adults
  • Research and develop appropriate culinary programming for beginner and practicing cooks
  • Provide positive learning and recreational experience for all participants
  • Follow and enforce food, health, and workplace safety standards
  • Maintain kitchen facility and equipment in good order

Qualifications

  • Enrollment in or completion of post-secondary program in Culinary Arts or related discipline
  • Demonstrated abilities and strong knowledge of cooking with familiarity in baking, canning, meal planning, or related areas
  • Experience developing lesson and activity plans
  • Previous teaching experience in an educational setting
  • Safe Food Handling Certification and Emergency First Aid with AED/CPR B
