Part-time contract instructor position to teach drawing and painting classes to children, youth, and adults in studio arts at Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre. Role involves delivering visual art instruction across multiple media and assisting in curriculum development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, lead, and deliver visual art classes in drawing, painting, and/or printmaking to ages 3+
  • Develop program-specific curriculum
  • Assist in research and development of arts programming for beginner and practicing artists
  • Ensure art activities are safe, creative, and inclusive for all participants
  • Provide positive learning and recreational experience for participants

Qualifications

  • Enrollment in or completion of post-secondary program in Visual Arts or related discipline
  • Demonstrated abilities and strong knowledge of contemporary visual art
  • Experience developing lesson and activity plans
  • Previous teaching experience in an educational setting
  • Strong organizational, planning, time management, and leadership skills
