Permanent full-time Journeyman Mechanic (Day Shift) position with the City of Saskatoon's Roadways, Fleet and Support Services division. Under supervision, maintains and repairs a variety of vehicles and equipment including preventative maintenance, inspections, and diagnostics of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Key Responsibilities
Review work orders and perform repairs and preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment
Inspect vehicles and equipment, conduct road tests, and test systems to diagnose problems
Adjust, repair and replace parts using hand tools and specialized equipment
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Perform preventative maintenance, safety inspections including SGI inspections, minor fabrication and welding as required
Qualifications
Grade 12 education
Valid provincial or inter-provincial Journeyperson designation in Automotive, Truck and Transport, or Heavy Duty mechanics
Five years of Journeyperson experience with vehicles, large equipment and heavy-duty truck repairs
Valid Saskatchewan Class 3A Driver's Licence
Current driver's abstract from SGI demonstrating safe driving record
