Permanent full-time weekend-shift Journeyman Mechanic position with the City of Saskatoon's Roadways, Fleet and Support Services division. Maintains and repairs a variety of vehicles and equipment including road tests, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance under supervisor direction.
Key Responsibilities
Reviews work orders and carries out repairs and preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment
Inspects vehicles and equipment, performs road tests, and tests systems to diagnose problems
Adjusts, repairs and replaces parts using hand tools and specialized equipment
Diagnoses and repairs mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Performs minor fabrication and welding duties and completes required documentation
Qualifications
Grade 12 education
Valid provincial or inter-provincial Journeyperson designation in Automotive, Truck and Transport, or Heavy Duty mechanics
Five years of Journeyperson experience with vehicles, large equipment and heavy-duty truck repairs
Valid Saskatchewan Class 3A Driver's Licence
Current driver's abstract from SGI demonstrating safe driving record
