Permanent full-time Mechanic (Journeyperson) position with Saskatoon Transit under the Mechanical Shop Supervisor, maintaining and repairing transit vehicles, facilities, and shop equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Locate, diagnose equipment defects, and maintain/repair transit vehicles and associated equipment, machinery, and buildings
Perform checks, routines, and procedures to ensure compliance with transit standards, applicable laws, safety regulations, and government vehicle safety inspections
Report observed defects and potential problem areas
Make minor repair and replacement decisions according to preventive maintenance program
Provide reports and data documenting work performed and vehicle/component condition
Qualifications
Grade 12 education
Saskatchewan Journeyperson Truck and Transport Mechanic or Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic Certificate
Considerable knowledge of transit vehicle repair and maintenance methods, procedures, equipment, and materials
Knowledge of air brakes, air control, and air systems
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
