About this job
Permanent full-time Mechanic (Parks) position with the City of Saskatoon, reporting to Supervisor X. The role involves maintaining and repairing parks maintenance equipment and vehicles, including preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Review work orders and carry out repairs and preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment
- Service parks maintenance equipment fleet and perform preventative maintenance
- Inspect equipment, conduct road tests, and diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic system problems
- Adjust, repair and replace parts using hand tools and specialized equipment; perform minor fabrication and welding
- Complete required documentation including inspection forms and service reports
Qualifications
- Grade 12 education
- Valid provincial or inter-provincial Journeyperson designation in Automotive, Truck and Transport, or Heavy Duty mechanics
- Five years' journeyman experience in equipment repairs
- Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver's Licence and current SGI driver's abstract demonstrating safe driving record
- WHMIS training certificate (training provided upon hire)
