The City of London seeks three Motor Vehicle Mechanics to perform skilled repair, service, and inspection of municipal vehicles and equipment including gasoline, diesel, hybrid, CNG, electric, and propane-powered vehicles. Key Responsibilities
Conduct repairs, service, and inspections on various engine types (gasoline, diesel, hybrid, CNG, battery electric, propane) according to established procedures
Perform and certify Ministry of Transportation (MTO) vehicle inspections under the DriveON program
Diagnose, maintain, and repair mechanical systems including electrical, electronic control, pneumatic, steering, brakes, suspension, hydraulics, emission control, and drivetrain components
Perform electric and acetylene welding and cutting as required for vehicle and equipment service
Maintain written and electronic work records including time sheets, work orders, parts lists, and inspection sheets
Qualifications
Successful completion of Grade 12 in Ontario or equivalent
Successful completion of both 310T (Truck and Coach Technician) and 310S (Automotive Service Technician) Apprenticeship Programs at a certified community college or trade school
Valid Certificate of Qualification as Truck and Coach Technician (310T) and Automotive Service Technician (310S) from MLITSD
Valid Internal Combustion Alternate Fuel Certificates: ICE-NG (Natural Gas) and ICE-P (Propane), or ability to obtain within 6 months
Valid Class DZ Driver's License or ability to obtain within 6 months
